Minks Updates: March 2024

From Active to Quiet

Happy spring readers,
I’ve been awfully quiet in the face of working 40-50 hours a week, high stress at work, financial difficulties, and managing sick pets at home. So, I apologize for the absence online. However, I’m wrapping up the last 3-5 chapters of a Work-in-Progress.

Missed eBook Week

In my absence, I missed eBook Week on Smashwords, and I’d like to make up for it with a Special eBook Week of my own. So, until March 31st, 2024 all my eBooks will be free on Smashwords. Use code: “AS35J “on any of my books. Happy reading!

The Work-In-Progress Progress

My WIPs have been hitting wall after wall for a number of reasons. Plots take too long to kick off, don’t make sense, are too ambitious (there is way too much going on between vampires, magic, fantasy, etc.)—another reason I don’t write fantasy—or are too repetitive.

I’ve been debating whether to keep one of my WIPs going. Something about it feels repetitive to some popular books, movies, and TV shows, so I believe it’s a no-go, and I’m debating scrapping it.

My current WIP is plotted to completion; I just have to write it and edit it. It’s ideally set in the 1750s-1800s, and the plot centers around upper aristocratic politics in a semi-realistic setting.

The goal is this summer, though realistically, it may come this fall. I’m hoping the next book will have a Booktok launch in the future, but that’s a whole other side project to work on!

Thank you readers for your support and reviews!
